Responsibility Unit
What does it mean to be responsible?
How can I be responsible?

Introduction to Unit - Responsibility

This week the students were introduced to the unit's theme which is responsibility. We brainstormed what it means to be responsible in class, at recess, and at home by completing a web. Then, the children wrote sentences from the web. Later, we read a poem aloud that offered specific examples of being responsible.

The students made their own 'syllable card' (see image below) that they can use while they break apart and read longer words. I encourage students to use these cards in conjunction with 'Beats on the Body.' These strategies will not only help your child's reading progress but also his/her spelling progress.
